Duties Description
Under direct supervision, the incumbent will provide direct support to Mail, Receiving, and Asset Management at the Wadsworth Center. Responsibilities include receiving shipments containing supplies, equipment, samples/specimens, dangerous goods, and live animals. Process these items both manually and using an electronic purchasing system. Process outgoing correspondence and packages using postage machines and FedEx Ship Manager, as well as any other methods required. The incumbent will also assist with shipping supplies and test kits for the wastewater program. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Permanent Transfer: Current New York State employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service as an Office Assistant 1 Stores/Mail G-6, OR a NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent- permanent, competitive service in a position allocated to a salary Grade-4 or above and eligible for transfer to an Office Assistant 1 Stores/Mail, Grade-6 under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
Public Candidates: Active list candidate on the New York State Department of Civil Service's Beginning Office Assistant eligible list#26-711 with a score of 100 or higher, OR qualified 55 b/c candidate.
NYHELPS: There are no minimum education or experience requirements.
Preferred Qualifications: Preferred candidate must have experience working in a fast paced environment working as part of a team. Candidate must be able to lift items in excess of 50lbs and have experience utilizing pallet moving equipment.

Permanent, Competitive, full-time. Transfer candidates may be asked for SSN to verify title history and eligibility.
