The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) offers nutrition education, breastfeeding support, referrals, and a variety of nutritious foods to low-income pregnant, breastfeeding or postpartum women, infants, and children up to age five to promote and support good health.
The Public Health Nutritionist (PHN) 1 will work as a Regional Nutrition Contract Manager as part of the Metropolitan Area Regional Office Contract Management team. The PHN 1 will provide technical assistance to local agencies on nutrition, breastfeeding, outreach, WIC's management information system, and central office initiatives. The PHN 1 will use email, phone consultation, and on-site visits to monitor local agency progress in meeting federal and State regulations and achieving annual goals and objectives. The PHN 1 will serve as a regional contact for food, nutrition, breastfeeding, outreach, and health information and resources; participate in program planning, meetings, and workgroups related to the WIC program; analyze metrics to prepare reports; participate in developing regional program SMART goals/objectives; develop nutrition/health information forms and documents; review and approve local agency policy, and work with Central Office to revise nutrition policies. The PHN 1 will work with local agency staff to resolve participant questions and complaints and assure they are delivering participant-centered services.

Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate will have experience with community public health, maternal and child health nutrition, and general nutrition education. The candidate wil have experience interpreting State and federal regulations, program development, contract management, technical assistance, training, reviewing reports, and interpreting data. They will have proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams, strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

- You must be a Registered Dietitian (RD)/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) currently registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration, the credentialing agency for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
- you must have two years of full-time professional experience, after successful completion of the Registration Examination for Dietitians, in the field of nutrition or dietetics.
