Job Specifics
Duties Description Capital District Psychiatric Center (CDPC), an Office of Mental Health (OMH) Joint Commission accredited facility, is currently recruiting Licensed Mental Health Counselors for their Crisis Intervention Unit (CIU). Evening and overnight shift positions are available.
The CIU provides 24-hour crisis response to children, adolescents, and adults in the Capital Region. Individuals can be referred by a mobile crisis team, law enforcement, outpatient clinics, local hospitals, or individuals can self-present in a time of crisis.
Licensed Mental Health Counselors will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to triage and assess individuals in a psychiatric emergency room setting including:
Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside or within State Service may be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement - Statewide (HELPS) program as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor if they have a license and current registration as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York State.
OR
Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they are reachable on the current Licensed Mental Health Counselor eligible list.
OR
Candidates from within State Service may be considered for transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
