Duties Description Buffalo Psychiatric Center is recruiting for a Mental Hygiene Therapy Assistant 1 to supervise Mental Health Therapy Aides providing direct care services to individual diagnosed with mental illness. Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply.
As a Mental Hygiene Therapy Assistant 1, you are part of a treatment team and duties will include:
Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (NY HELPS) as a Mental Hygiene Therapy Assistant 1 if they have:
OR
Candidates within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have 1 year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
Please Note: After 2 years of satisfactory experience as a Mental Hygiene Therapy Assistant 1, you will advance to the Mental Hygiene Therapy Assistant 2, SG-13, without further examination.

Posted hiring rate includes the sum of the statutory hiring rate ($48,956), an Increase Hiring Rate ($6,172), Geographic Pay Differential ($4,000).
