Duties Description

As Nurse Practitioner Family Health, you will provide primary health care including:

• Conducting physical examinations.
• Diagnosing and treating health conditions.
• Establishing individual goals and treatment objectives in conjunction with treatment team.
• Prescribing medications and treatments, monitoring impact, and modifying as needed.
• Maintaining medical records and documentation.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates from outside or within State Service may be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement - Statewide (NY HELPS) program as a Nurse Practitioner Family Health if they have certification and current registration as a Nurse Practitioner in the Family Health specialty practice area by the New York State Education Department.

OR

Candidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Additional Comments:

Posted Salary is the sum the statutory job rate for PS&T Grade 24 $88,639, plus an Increased Hiring Rate of $23,258 and a Geographic Differential of $25,000.

If your degree or college credit was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States and its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency. You can write to the Examination Information Desk of the Department of Civil Service for a list of acceptable companies who provide this service. You must pay the required evaluation fee.
