The Office of the Attorney General is seeking qualified candidates for a Detective Investigator position in Pearl River.
Candidates should be hard-working, motivated and committed to public service on behalf of the people of the State
of New York.
MFCU, the centerpiece of New York’s efforts to combat Medicaid provider fraud, is looking for experienced Detective
Investigators to conduct complex investigations into fraud committed by Medicaid providers and others in the
healthcare industry who steal from New York State, those involved in the diversion of prescription narcotics, and to
investigate and prosecute abuse and neglect of residents in nursing homes, hospitals, and other residential
healthcare facilities.
- Must have at least ten (10) years of prior law enforcement experience.
- Have current NYS basic police academy certification approved by DCJS or the ability to successfully complete all
- Must possess a valid NYS Driver’s License with ability to operate a motor vehicle.
- Extensive experience conducting and overseeing stationary and moving surveillance.
- Experience conducting undercover work and investigating the sales of illegal narcotics.
- Experience investigating pattern crimes.
- Proficient in investigative databases.
- Having established contacts within the law enforcement community in the Pearl River and New York City areas.
The annual salary for this position is $75,348. Appointments in Pearl River receive an additional $3,400 location pay. This
position is overtime eligible. Performance of the duties may require frequent, unscheduled work on evenings and
weekends and requires 24/7 availability. This position is in the exempt class, and incumbents serve at the
pleasure of the Attorney General.
