Position Description:
The Blind Brook School District is looking for an energetic leader to serve in a probationary position as the Director of Health, Physical Education and Interscholastic Athletics.
The Director of Health, Physical Education and Interscholastic Athletics is directly responsible to the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment for all matters concerning the administration and supervision of the interscholastic athletic program as well as the district physical education and health programs. The position requires an individual who understands the transformative impact of a collaborative Leadership Team, who has the communication skills to work with a wide range of constituents, including Section One responsibilities and participation at the state level, and is committed to fostering a healthy culture.
Director of Health and Physical Education responsibilities include: Overseeing curriculum and instruction for our health and physical education classes Supervising health and physical education personnel Supporting ongoing professional learning for health and physical education staff Managing budgets to support curriculum and instruction in physical education and health Remaining abreast of recent changes in regulations and emerging trends in the areas of physical education and health.
Director of Interscholastic Athletics responsibilities include: Interviewing, hiring, developing, evaluating, and maintaining certification status of coaching staff Coordinating facility utilization schedules Facilitating regular meetings and orientations for parents, players, and coaches Assisting in the development of transportation schedules Overseeing all communications related to athletics Managing the budget for interscholastic athletics Issuing bids for equipment and services Fulfilling all mandatory responsibilities required for participation in Section I Athletics Ensure player and spectator safety at events and practices Developing, updating, and enforcing the Interscholastic Athletic Handbook Chairing/participating in committees both in-District and outside (District Wellness Committee, Athletic Advisory Committee)

Qualifications:
NYS Certification as a School District Administrator or School District Leader and K-12 Physical Education.
Salary Range:
$140,000 - 170,000
