What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Sergeant-at-Arms position at New York State Senate?
The New York State Senate is seeking a full-time Assistant Sergeant-at-Arms. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Keeping order during the Senate Session
- Maintaining security in the State Capitol, and all Senate offices
- Protecting the members of the Senate
Candidates must have law enforcement or military experience, and a high school degree or equivalent. Additionally, experience monitoring large crowds and current active shooter training are both a plus.
This is a full-time position with a salary range of $65,000 to $71,000, commensurate with education and experience. The NYS Senate offers a comprehensive benefits package, including a wellness program.
