What are the responsibilities and job description for the Communications Director position at New York State Senate?
High-profile, progressive New York State Senator representing a New York City district seeks highly qualified Communications Director. Job requires demonstrated skills in message development, copywriting, cultivating constructive relationships with the press, comprehensive familiarity with creating content for all main social media platforms, and more.
Role also requires formulating, implementing, and overseeing multi-component communications plans around top legislative and district priorities.
Some night and weekend availability is also required. This hybrid position is based in the district office, with very occasional travel to Albany during legislative session.
To be considered, you should have four years of experience in political communications.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be Spanish bilingual
- Possess video production/editing experience
- Be familiar with top issues such as criminal justice, housing, and labor
Salary range: $85,000-$90,000, commensurate with experience.
