Position Summary
Under the direction of administration leadership, the Director of Human Resources is responsible for the development and execution of a comprehensive HR strategy and the management of NYSTRS Human Resources Department. This position will be responsible for creating inclusive organizational human resources practices, building a dynamic, diverse and innovative team and supporting the mission of the System. This position leads a team of 15.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree and eight years’ experience working in a role where the main duties included recruitment, civil service administration, talent acquisition, benefits administration, payroll administration, employee relations and other functions typical of a human resources office and five years of direct human resources-related supervisory experience of at least one subordinate OR
- Bachelor’s degree and ten years’ experience working in a role where the main duties included recruitment, civil service administration, talent acquisition, benefits administration, payroll administration, employee relations and other functions typical of a human resources office and five years of direct human resources-related supervisory experience of at least one subordinate OR
- Associates degree and twelve years’ experience working in a role where the main duties included recruitment, civil service administration, talent acquisition, benefits administration, payroll administration, employee relations and other functions typical of a human resources office and five years of direct human resources-related supervisory experience of at least one subordinate.
