Job Description:
The New York State Unified Court System is seeking a highly qualified and motivated professional to serve as Assistant Deputy Counsel in the Office of Court Administration, Division of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). This position will monitor and support the duties of ADR Coordinators across multiple NYC counties and courts.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinating with ADR Regional Coordinators and the Statewide ADR Coordinator to assess programs, staff, and resources and identifying and resolving issues relating to the ADR Initiative.
- Drafting, reviewing, and editing ADR-related documents, procedures, rules, and guidelines.
- Compiling, analyzing, and reporting on ADR data.
- Engaging with various ADR stakeholders and other ADR professionals.
- Assisting in identifying training needs and preparing for ADR training events.
- Offering technical assistance to judges and staff in creating new mediation programs.
- Serving as point person for questions from court staff or the public on ADR in the NYC courts.
- Collaborating on improving ADR data collection systems.
- Supporting the hiring of ADR Coordinators and staff.
Qualifications:
- Admission to the New York State Bar is required.
- 2 years of Associate Counsel Experience (or equivalent legal experience).
