What are the responsibilities and job description for the Court Clerk position at New York State Unified Court System?
The New York County Clerk’s Office is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Court Clerk Specialist to join the team in the Judgment Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising personnel and supporting the Chief Deputy Court Clerk in managing the non-jury section of the agency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Chief Deputy Court Clerk in overseeing the operations of the non-jury section, including coordination of departmental activities and processes.
- Collaborate with the Jury Division to assist in the modernization and optimization of operations, ensuring seamless integration of new systems and technology.
- Develop and conduct juror outreach programs to improve communication with the public and facilitate the jury process.
- Process judgments in accordance with court rules, policies, and procedures.
- Act as a liaison between judges, chambers staff, and part clerks.
- Address and resolve inquiries related to judgments, notary services, cashier transactions, certifications, and court filings in a professional and timely manner.
Qualifications: One year of service in the Principal Court Clerk, Principal Appellate Court Clerk or Principal Surrogate's Court Clerk title; or Admission to the New York State Bar and three (3) years of legal experience; or An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Salary: $ 123,228 $4,920 Location Pay
