JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Business Intelligence Lead plays a pivotal role in advancing the organization's data-driven decision-making capabilities. This position is responsible for defining and championing best practices in the visual delivery of information through reporting and visualization, guiding and supporting report developers and power users, and leading the development of strategic reporting and visualization assets. The Senior Business Intelligence Lead will collaborate with corporate IT to define and deliver a robust technology platform that supports both ad-hoc and enterprise reporting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Define and advocate for best practices in the visual delivery of information through effective reporting and visualization techniques.
- Lead the development of strategic reporting and visualization assets that support key program initiatives. [VPC & USAL specifically]
- Design, build, and maintain sophisticated reports and interactive dashboards using BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
- Develop compelling visualizations to communicate insights from data analysis and AI initiatives.
- Work closely with various business units to understand data requirements and translate them into meaningful and actionable information.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data through thorough validation and testing processes.
- Provide training and support to business users on effective use of reporting tools and dashboards.
- Keep abreast of the latest trends and advancements in BI technology and data visualization techniques.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position may have direct reports depending on the project and organizational structure.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field. Advanced degrees are preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years' experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related field, with a strong portfolio demonstrating proficiency in BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
- Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R. Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, SQL, and data modeling.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and educate stakeholders on data-driven insights.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities in guiding and mentoring team members and leading cross-functional initiatives.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Preferred: Databricks Certified Associate Developer for Apache Spark, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or other relevant certifications.
