Senior Cloud Engineer (AWS)

Role Overview
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Cloud Engineer with deep AWS architecture expertise to drive cloud strategy, automation, and infrastructure management at an Asset Management firm. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and can architect, automate, and optimize cloud solutions while mentoring junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities
Cloud Architecture & Strategy
Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of AWS-based cloud infrastructure.
Architect highly available, scalable, and secure cloud environments.
Partner with developers and internal teams to implement best practices for cloud adoption and optimization.
Automation & Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Automate cloud deployments using Terraform, Kubernetes, and CI / CD pipelines.
Implement immutable infrastructure practices and ensure self-service cloud capabilities for teams.
Develop and optimize cloud-native applications and microservices architectures.
Security, Observability & Cost Optimization
Implement cloud security best practices (IAM, VPC security, encryption, RBAC, monitoring).
Ensure compliance with cloud governance and cost optimization (FinOps) strategies.
Deploy observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry) for monitoring and performance tuning.
Collaboration & Mentorship
Mentor Cloud Engineering team members, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
Work closely with infrastructure, platform, and DevOps teams to improve hybrid cloud integration.
Hands-On Development
Write Python, Terraform, Puppet, and Bash scripts for automation.
Implement and support applications running on AWS & Kubernetes.
Troubleshoot and optimize cloud and on-prem environments.

What We’re Looking For
Required Experience
Overall 15 Years and 7 years of hands-on AWS experience architecting large-scale cloud environments.
Deep knowledge of AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, ElastiCache).
Expert in Kubernetes (cluster creation, security, deployments).
Strong expertise in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
Experience with automation (Python, Bash, Ansible, CI / CD pipelines).
Security-first mindset with experience in cloud security best practices.
Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose performance bottlenecks.
Ability to work in a high-speed, high-stakes trading environment.
Nice to Have
Experience in public cloud strategy planning.
Contributions to open-source projects.
AWS Solutions Architect Professional, CKA, CKAD, or CKS certifications.
Experience with AI / ML infrastructure in the cloud.
