Job Summary

US Citizenship is required for this role

  • Collects outstanding monies owed to Newark by its largest customers.
  • Work cross-functionally with Sales, Sales Support, Financial Operations and GBS to ensure our collections process is best in class.
  • Decrease DSO and increase cash flow for the organization by providing superior customer service, reconciliation of accounts regarding any outstanding issues and by adhering to best practices with relation to Credit and Collections.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Contacts customers to resolve past dues balances, account clean-up
  • Identifies to management customer’s reasons for non-payment and works with management toward a solution to prevent reoccurrence of the same issues.
  • Reconciles problem invoices / accounts by collaborating with sales, financial operations, sales support and GIS.
  • Responds to customer inquiries and internal inquiries within a reasonable time frame.
  • Sends duplicate invoices, credit memos and PODs as requested.
  • Ensures credit memos, negative invoices, debit memos, 300-06 are being addressed in a timely manner and resolved with the customer.
  • Provide Ad Hoc reporting and analysis when requested by management.

Job Level Specifications

  • Antiquated system makes it difficult to resolve issues.
  • Collaborating with sales to ensure that past due balances are paid while keeping the Newark / Customer relationship in tact.
  • Cross-functional relationships have deteriorated over the years. It is crucial that those relationships mend and improve.

Experience

  • Typically requires a minimum of five years of related experience.
  • 1-2 years of business / commercial collections experience preferred.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and the ability to learn Newark in-house applications quickly.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Intermediate keyboarding skills
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical tasks
  • Ability to prioritize and performing multiple tasks at once is crucial for the individual to achieve success

Education/Certification

  • HS Diploma required
  • College degree or earned college credit is highly recommended, but not required.
