NCDCC Preschool is seeking an experienced individual for our Assistant Teacher position for a GSRP preschool classroom.
This position requires:
An Associates Degree in Early Childhood/Preschool Education or Child Development, OR
A Child Development Associate Preschool (CDA) credential, AND
A comprehensive background check for criminal offenses and child abuse/neglect/fingerprinting.
The person in this position will be responsible for:
Collaborating with the classroom Teacher, volunteers and other staff in the implementation of the Great Start Readiness Program.
Assisting the classroom Teacher in developing, implementing and following through with daily and weekly lesson plans utilizing the Connect4Learning Curriculum.
Communicating with the children at their level, and participating in their structured activities; guiding children in the development and use of appropriate language, cognitive and social skills.
Acquiring and exhibiting good classroom management techniques utilizing positive guidance methods.
Assuming the responsibility for the students in the absence of the Teacher.
Participating in home visits with families and assisting with associated documentation.
Encouraging parent involvement in the program
Setting up, cleaning and maintaining the classroom and playground.
Partnering with the classroom Teacher and other classroom staff to complete required documentation.
Participating in conferences, workshops, staff in-service trainings, and continuing education as required.
- A willingness to obtain a Commercial Driver's License and all other legal requirements to become a school bus driver within a contracted timeframe at the time of hire.
- Fulfilling the duties of Bus Driver in his/her absence on an "as-needed" basis (Substitute Bus Driver).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $12.48 - $13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
