General Function
The Classroom Paraprofessional shall carry out those duties and activities assigned which will ensure the effective operations of the class or activity to which they are assigned.
Position Qualifications
· High school graduate, preferably with some additional educational skills and training.
· Self‑sufficient and require a minimum of supervision or assistance to aid in the care and education of students.
· Two years of work experience directly related to the program area (within the last five years).
· Physically capable of performing duties specific to the program area.
· Knowledge of the tools, equipment, tasks and safety procedures used in the assigned job area.

· Able to work as a member of a team and contribute to the agency vision and goals.
· Demonstrate an ability to adapt to work in classroom, barn, greenhouse, and other outdoor spaces.

Essential Duties
Essential duties shall include, but not be limited to:
· Assist during the lesson by helping students who may be having difficulty in understanding or in keeping up with the class.
· Assist by working with individual or small groups of students on follow‑up activities.
· Assist by carrying out activities for an individual student or small group of students, under the supervision and direction of the classroom instructor.
· Prepare classroom materials, assist in the preparation of daily lesson plans, operate audiovisual equipment, make instructional charts, and other tasks assigned by the classroom instructor.
· Help with maintaining room inventory, recording attendance, typing, duplicating materials, filing materials, maintaining student records, creating documents, correcting student papers and other student assignments, and running errands for the classroom instructor.
· Assist with behavior and/or discipline of students.
· Attend building, staff and parent meetings, participate in parent conferences, perform housekeeping tasks, and comply with requests to call parents.
· Be responsible to aid the classroom instructor or supervise in the instruction and evaluation of students.
· Be responsible to aid in the direct organization and supervision of all classroom activities.
· Be responsible to help in the repair of all equipment and materials in the classroom.
· Provide feedback to the Classroom Instructor on supplies and equipment to promote the most cost effective and efficient program operation possible.
· Drive and operate equipment including tractors, implements, and livestock trailers.
· Demonstrate safe and ethical animal handling practices.
· Ability and willingness to learn new practices and skills.
· Ability and interest to assist in managing projects during busy seasons (i.e. calving/farrowing, plant sales) and during non-school hours (over breaks, on weekends, etc.).
· Perform other duties deemed appropriate by the Classroom Instructor and/or CTC Principal.

Work Environment
· Program setting includes both general school building and outdoor facilities including livestock barn, greenhouses, and other various outdoor areas. Responsibilities will include working in outdoor settings during extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, rain/snow, etc.). The noise level in the position varies.
Terms of Employment
· Hourly employee (non-exempt)
· School year position; 6.25 hours/day
· Position covered under MESPA Master Agreement
