Description: The Flexible Learning Center secretarial position combines student supervision with technical support to the department. The secretary must be a forward thinker with the ability to implement new ideas and programs. The secretary will be responsible for supporting students in their online coursework (Fuel Education platform), onboarding of new students, confirming grade reports for counselors, data management and running reports as needed. This position does require a blend of technical skills along with strong customer service to some of our most at-risk students. There is also the opportunity to annually train new staff on Fuel Ed and how to utilize it more effectively.
Requirements: Genuine understanding of adolescents and sincere desire to assist students. Good organizational skills. Ability to (1) communicate effectively; (2) develop and maintain positive relations with students, staff, parents, and public; (3) receive, screen, and give varied information to callers; (4) use various technologies (computer, office machines, telephone) to maintain various student records; (5) maintain confidentiality; and (6) compose with clarity a variety of correspondence. Employment contingent upon fingerprinting and acceptable performance on in-district clerical skills test. Compliance with the OHA COVID-19 Mandate required upon hire.
Qualifications Desired: Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills), flexible, adaptable and organized. Willing to do a variety of jobs. Relates well to students and staff.
Classification/Location: Classified, Temporary, Half-Time Position at Newberg High School
Calendar/Benefits: 20 hours per week; 215 days per year
$18.00 - $22.91 per hour (Range 10 of 2022-2023 Classified Wage Schedule, current employees see contract)
