The Opportunity:

Newbook connects brands, creative agencies, and photographers with tens of thousands of talented fashion models and user-generated content creators. Our platform empowers individuals and businesses to explore creative opportunities and redefine the future of the fashion and creator economy. At its core, our mission is to create more opportunities for our community, and this role plays a key part in making that happen.


We’re looking for a driven Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR) to explore, develop, and launch new businesses under the Newbook umbrella. Whether it’s a media venture, talent management firm, UGC agency, brand-sponsored events business, product seeding company, live shopping platform, or creator-led brand, the sky is the limit.


You bring the vision, we provide you with direct access to an influential, highly engaged network of fashion and creative professionals. You’ll have the unique advantage of launching a business with built-in distribution and zero acquisition costs. Our tools, infrastructure, and community allow you to move fast, scale efficiently, and build something impactful—without the usual friction or risk of starting from scratch.


To make the most of this opportunity, your business should (1) leverage our influential user base to create, distribute, or promote products and services, or (2) tap into our network as a ready-made customer base for your products or services.

Experience in consumer brand partnerships, influencer marketing, digital media, e-commerce, or community-driven businesses will give you an edge in building something big quickly. But more importantly, you’re someone who is resourceful, adaptable, and willing to experiment. You understand the value of distribution and audience, and you’re excited by the chance to create something new with a network already primed for success.

Your Mission:

As the Entrepreneur in Residence, your first step will be to deliver a solid business plan outlining your vision and approach. Once approved, you’ll quickly move into building, launching, and experimenting. We’re working with a lean startup mentality, so speed, agility, and adaptability are key. You’ll have the support and resources of the Newbook team, but you’ll be the CEO of your own venture, expected to take full ownership and drive it forward independently.


  • Innovate: Identify untapped opportunities in the creator economy and develop business concepts that leverage Newbook’s engaged audience and distribution channels. You’ll be expected to think strategically, move fast, and validate ideas quickly.
  • Launch: Turn your vision into reality with rapid execution. You’ll build, test, and iterate—adapting to market feedback and optimizing for early traction. Revenue generation within your second month is the goal, requiring a strong bias toward action and problem-solving.
  • Scale: Once you find traction, refine and grow your business. You’ll leverage Newbook’s platform, community, and network to accelerate success while taking full ownership of strategy, operations, and long-term growth.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Opportunity Development: Research emerging trends - particularly in the creator economy, media, AI, beauty, fashion, luxury, and wellness - to identify scalable business ideas.
  • MVP Testing: Build and validate minimum viable products (MVPs) using Newbook’s existing platform and community, iterating quickly based on real-world feedback.
  • Partnerships & Business Development: Leverage Newbook’s relationships and your own network to drive collaborations, secure deals, and accelerate growth
  • Sales and Outreach: Lead pitches, negotiations, and direct outreach to relevant stakeholders to generate early traction and revenue.
  • Marketing and Growth: Create and optimize email campaigns, landing pages, and acquisition strategies to drive adoption and engagement.
  • Leadership and Execution: Oversee the development of your venture from concept to execution, ensuring each project achieves measurable results.
  • Team Building: Recruit, develop, and manage a team to scale the business as it grows.


What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience Advantage: Hands-on experience in consumer brand partnerships, marketplace businesses, content production, talent management, influencer marketing, public relations, or event management is highly preferred, but not required.
  • Builder Mentality: A proven track record of creating and launching products, businesses, or projects - whether independently or within a company.
  • Resourcefulness: A scrappy, self-starter approach with the ability to creatively solve problems and adapt quickly.
  • Sales Proficiency: Comfortable with pitching, negotiating, and closing deals.
  • Marketing Savvy: Strong grasp of email marketing, landing page optimization, and conversion strategies.
  • Design Knowledge: Familiarity with design principles and tools for creating compelling UXUI, newsletters, or other assets for MVPs.
  • Hunger and Drive: The determination to make an impact, regardless of experience level.
  • Local to Los Angeles or New York or willing to travel to these markets as needed.

Compensation & Commitment:

This role is designed to be an eat-what-you-kill opportunity, which we believe offers the right conditions for the ideal candidate to thrive. Successful EIRs will be driven by the uncapped upside of profit sharing and ownership, motivated to build and scale ventures knowing they directly drive their rewards.


However, we understand that not everyone has the personal runway to take on this kind of challenge. For an exceptional candidate, we can offer a monthly stipend, though this may adjust offerings around equity and ownership structure.


EIRs can be part-time or full-time, but those dedicated to maximizing the business's potential will be prioritized.
