What are the responsibilities and job description for the HVAC MECHANIC I- ENGINEERING & PLANT OPS- PER-DIEM position at Newbridge Health & Wellness?
Job Duties
Maintains chilled water, steam, condensate, roof leader, glass acid piping and all other related piping.
Makes rounds in all mechanical rooms, logs said rounds, monitors equipment, repairs plumbing (sinks, toilets, etc.)
Performs plumbing installation and repair. Snakes out drain lines and sewers.
Troubleshoots electrical and pneumatic controls and checks air compressors.
Makes recommendations to supervisor in regard to safety and equipment operation procedure. Also, recommends when the equipment needs to be replaced instead of repaired.
Responds to elevator emergencies.
Performs general repair to building and equipment on assigned zone / floor as requested.
Completes daily time report at end of shift.
Performs snow / ice removal as requested.

Education
Trade school (HVAC or plumbing courses) graduate is preferred.
Experience
Preferably, a minimum of one year experience.
Skills
Ability to select and use tools and equipment appropriate to the task.
Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position.
Good interpersonal skills.
