Job Title: Dishwasher

Reports To: Executive Chef
Newbridge Retirement Community is seeking a customer service- oriented individual to join our team as part-time Dishwasher. This individual will represent Newbridge to the residents, their guests, families, and the community in a professional and positive manner.
As Dishwasher, you will be responsible for maintaining kitchen work areas and community equipment and utensils in a clean and orderly condition. You will also maintain cleanliness and organization of the food services department and assisting cooks in preparing and presenting meals for the community.
I. Job Responsibilities
- Exemplify at all times company standards of cleanliness, sanitation and operational organization.
- Responsible for the proper washing, sanitation and maintenance for food service-related equipment and cleanliness of major kitchen equipment and for washing, sanitizing, drying and storing china, glass, silverware, pots, pans, and utensils.
- Scrapes food from dirty dishes and washes them by hand or places them in racks or on conveyor to dishwashing machine.
- Thoroughly cleans dishwasher after each meal.
- Operates commercial dishwasher and sweeps & mops kitchen floors.
- Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks.
- Segregates and removes trash and garbage and places it in designated containers.
- Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
- Loads or unloads trucks picking up or delivering supplies and food.
- Maintains cleanliness and sanitation standards for the entire Food Services Department according to policies and procedures for the community
II. Qualifications/Skills:
- Familiarity with local health department, OSHA, and other local and state health and sanitation and safety codes and regulations
- Ability to work well with others, communicate clearly and take direction from management
- Ability to take initiative and go above and beyond to meet resident needs
- Ability to meet all physical demands of the position which includes, but is not limited to, seeing, speaking, touching, walking, standing, bending, reaching overhead, crouching/kneeling or crawling, as well as the ability to regularly lift/move up to 50lbs independently and up to 100lbs with assistance
- Flexibility and the ability to work weekends, as needed
- Familiarity with local and state health and sanitation and safety codes and applicable state and federal regulations
- Knowledge of principle and practices of supervision
III Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
