Job Overview
Manages, organizes, directs and supervises the Section 8 Rental Assistance Program for the Newburgh Housing Authority. Prepares monthly reports indicating utilization rate and funding available. Administers tenant selection and eligibility. Manages program outreach activities. Monitors program compliance with HUD (Housing and Urban Development) regulations. Performs other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the implementation and management of the Section 8 housing program, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Makes policy recommendations for overall program operations'
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly financial projections to determine program funding levels.
- Screens, selects and approves program applicants
- Establishes an outreach program to effectively publicize program objectives, eligibility guidelines, and application procedures
- Coordinates the inspections of units to assure compliance with HUD standards
- Ability to meet with program participants and deal effectively with their problems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from a NYS accredited college and two years' experience related to management or administration in a business or governmental organization or department or
- Associates Degree from a NYS accredited college and four years' experience related to management in a business or governmental organization or departments.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,676.05 - $61,029.21 per year
