Position Summary:
The Human Resources Specialist will play a critical role in supporting the HR operations within our vibrant senior living community, which includes Independent Living, Memory Care, Skilled Nursing. This position is responsible for overseeing recruitment, interview scheduling, and onboarding processes, as well as managing administrative HR tasks and assisting Human Resources department with daily operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Recruiting and Talent Acquisition (60%)
- Provide support to all stages of the recruitment process (develop job advertisements, post jobs, screen resumes).
- Schedule interviews, conduct phone interviews.
- Serve as the lead on staff onboarding and offboarding.
- Coordinate and support hosting new hire orientation.
- Conduct all background screenings for candidates.
- Attend recruitment events and job fairs.
- bring creative ideas to recruiting and building a pipeline of candidates.
HR Support (30%)
- Maintain employee files and HR records, ensuring compliance with DPH and EOEA regulations.
- Conduct periodic audits of HR files and track annual employee policy acknowledgments and HR in-services.
- Respond to employment verifications and other employee requests.
- Create and distribute Employee Newsletters and other staff communications. Be creative with the staff break room and communication boards.
- Support engaging our staff by helping departments schedule and host monthly Staff Appreciation Events.
- Plan and execute other events, training, and employee engagement activities (Annual Staff and Family Fun Day, Open Enrollment Fair, education events, potlucks, bake-offs, contests).
Executive Support (10%)
- Provide administrative support to the Director of Human Resources.
- Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and meeting materials.
- Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate travel arrangements as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Human Resources, preferably in senior living, healthcare, or a regulated industry.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Known as a “go-to” person to get things done and deliver high-quality service to staff and residents.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Work Schedule:
- Full-time, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening or weekend events as required
