Responsibilities:
- Navigate a cloud-based ERP system to place purchase orders with primary vendors, and help drive the initiative to automate the placement of PO’s for select suppliers.
- Request shipping updates from suppliers to ensure accuracy of internal data.
- Expedite shipping with suppliers to ensure we maintain healthy inventory positions and meet service level expectations for our customers.
- Escalate within supplier organizations to drive resolution of ongoing issues.
- Work with the Merchandising Organization to identify alternate suppliers and place orders with them (when primary suppliers are struggling to meet our needs).
- Communicate with the Warehouse Organization to answer critical questions in Receiving and ensure accuracy of our inventory and supplier records.
- Visit suppliers to learn more about their operations and understand how we can maintain high performing partnerships.
- Work with peers and leadership to evolve processes and technologies that will set the Purchasing Organization up for success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of supply chain experience, ideally within a Purchasing Organization.
- Strong understanding of supply chain processes and systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software systems including ERP, Warehouse Management, and Business Intelligence tools
