What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intervention Specialist position at Newcastle Elementary School District?
Looking to fill the position for the remainder of this school year and/or the 2025/26 school year.
Summary of Position:
The Intervention Specialist assists teachers and works with children individually, in small groups, and in the classroom to provide intervention and instructional support. Specific hours for the position will be determined yearly as budget and needs allow
Examples of Essential Functions/Duties and Responsibilities:
Assess students using various test results to help determine placement
Use data, such as progress reports and areas of trouble, to provide instruction to students and bring their skills up to grade-level
Monitor the progress of entire caseload, maintain records and communicate with parents and teachers
Attend and participate in ongoing training sessions, data analysis meetings and workshops
Work with a team to help identify the best practices for individual students and groups of students
Provide input regarding the development and implementation of an intervention plan
Prepare reports for parents and staff regularly
Participate in evaluations of the intervention plan
Identify unique student needs and differentiate instruction accordingly
Participate in all necessary SST, 504, or IEP meetings
Attend all staff meetings and mandatory professional development days as directed by administration
Support and contribute to a positive and professional academic work environment
Actively participate and contribute to curriculum selection, facilities operations and professional development
Consistently adhere to and enforce all school policies
Communicate with co-workers, parents, students and the community with respect, integrity and positive intent
Support the mission and vision of the Charter School
Maintain a tidy classroom environment
Other duties as assigned.

Salary : $31 - $36
