A Production Efficiency Manager is responsible for partnering with the Plant Manager to optimize the efficiency of a production process by analyzing data, identifying bottlenecks, implementing process improvements, and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to maximize output while minimizing waste and costs, ensuring production goals are met consistently and safely across a manufacturing facility. Key responsibilities may include:
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Collect and analyze production data to identify areas for improvement, such as cycle times, scrap rates, downtime, and labor utilization.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and identify trends.
- Generate reports for management to highlight areas of concern and potential opportunities for efficiency gains.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement lean manufacturing principles to streamline production processes and eliminate waste.
- Analyze workflow and identify bottlenecks to optimize production flow.
- Conduct time studies to establish standard work procedures and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement process improvement initiatives, including continuous improvement projects.
- Team Leadership and Training:
- Coach and train production staff on best practices to improve efficiency and quality.
- Facilitate cross-functional teams to collaborate on process improvement projects.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the production team.
- Equipment Optimization:
- Monitor equipment performance and identify potential issues that could impact production efficiency.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure timely repairs and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Identify opportunities to upgrade or replace equipment to enhance productivity.
- Cost Management:
- Analyze production costs to identify areas for cost reduction.

Requirements
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and methodologies
- Experience with production planning and scheduling
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage and motivate teams
- Technical understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment
