The role:
Newcold is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Stock Control / Customer Service Supervisor to join our team. This role requires frequent travel (75% of the time) to various company sites and customer locations to provide [specific service, support, or expertise]. Future expectation will be to relocate to a site to fill a permanent position. You will be working closely with our teams across different locations, ensuring the highest level of service, troubleshooting, training, and implementation of solutions.
This position will manage the Customer Services & Stock Control team, Scheduling team, and the planning team. Meeting the goals of all departments, maintaining work schedules, delegate responsibilities evenly to team members. Provide oversight and direction, coach, mentor, & continue to develop team. To control and co-ordinate all activities associated with receiving and dispatching goods in line with customer requirements, standards and service levels. Overseeing the activities related to the function of stock management, customer service, shipping and receiving, and scheduling. Maintain a professional culture on site and a commitment to Health & Safety, Environmental Stewardship and Food Safety and Quality in line with company values.
What you will be doing:
Reporting directly to the Site Manager, communicate as it relates to the accomplishment of directives, objectives, and results.
Develop and document detailed process improvement procedures
Develop an audit plan to ensure department or process compliance with procedures
Supervise the work of scheduling, planning, and customer service/stock control employees to ensure adherence to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures, correcting errors or problems.
Monitoring and reacting to KPI results and working with the Site leadership team to identify and share improvement ideas
Provide employees with guidance in handling difficult or complex problems or in resolving escalated complaints or disputes.
Discuss job performance problems with employees to identify causes and issues and to work on resolving problems.
Prepare and issue work schedules, deadlines, and duty assignments for all departments aligned with operational needs.
Ensure coverage is scheduled when needed in line with budget and operational needs. Which may on occasion result in this position covering shifts.
Train or instruct employees in job duties or company policies or arrange for training to be provided.
Research, compile, and prepare reports, manuals, correspondence, or other information required by management or governmental agencies.
Maintain records pertaining to inventory, personnel, orders, supplies, or customer service issues.
Appropriately escalate and communicate customer issues the correct warehouse operational staff on site to ensure quick resolution
Ensure that inventory always meets HAACP and BRC standards in coordination with the site’s QESH Program and the customer’s QA requirements
Ensure that all employees provide the customer(s) with accurate and timely information and maintain frequent contact on progress, priorities, defects and bottlenecks
Oversee that orders are received and despatched in line with customer and company guidelines and procedures despatched in a timely manner in line with customer and company targets and KPIs of service and quality
What you bring to the table:
At least 5 years’ experience working in a similar capacity.
Training in Inventory Control Systems and Warehouse Management Systems
Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.
Proficient in Inventory Control Systems
Training and Team Leadership experience
Able to travel 75% of the time
Future expectation of relocating to a Newcold Facility
Other Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting and walking.
Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at a time.
On occasion, be able to work in -5 conditions for short periods of time.
