Responsibilities

Consult with clients on security strategies for perimeter security protection, monitoring and system selections.

Lead low voltage system designers in the layout and design of security systems including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection and security communications systems.

Coordinate with door hardware consultants for electronic security integration.

Coordinate design efforts by working closely with in-house and external disciplines, architectural clients, and building owners.

Plan and lead the entire project production process.

Perform contract administration duties of site visits, submittal review, RFI response and coordination and contractor assistance.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Possess a solid technical base with desire to lead and grow Junior staff into Senior consultants and project managers.

Prioritize effectively, have good follow-through, and practice self-implemented quality control measures.

Ability to communicate in a professional manner in writing, as well as verbally.

Understanding of the design and construction process.

Knowledge of access control system architecture, system components, communication protocols, and card technologies.

Knowledge of detention control and monitoring systems, programmable logic controllers, touchscreen control and Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) a plus.

Knowledge of video surveillance system architecture, camera technologies, and recording platforms.

Knowledge of intrusion detection system architecture, system components and functionality.

Knowledge of security communication systems architecture, system components and technologies.

Knowledge of detention control and monitoring systems, programmable logic controllers, touchscreen control and Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) a plus.
Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.

PSP or CPP preferred.

Five to Ten (5 to 10) years’ industry experience.

Minimum three (3) years’ experience in the design of security systems is required.

Demonstrated proficiency in Bluebeam a plus.

Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Revit a plus.
-
Experience with network design to support security systems is a plus.
-
Experience with risk and vulnerability assessments is a plus.

AutoCAD experience is a plus.
