DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Help desk activities to include answering and managing user support requests.
- Software installations, upgrades, application support and troubleshooting.
- Hardware/peripheral installation, setup, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair, including desktop PC’s, workstations, laptops, printers, and other IT related hardware.
- User account administration in various systems.
- Generating documentation for system configurations and procedures, including end user support and training related to IT resources.
- Work collaboratively with various levels of business users and other IT staff members to assist and enable their use of business applications or other IT solutions that may be in place.
- Work with outside vendors to resolve business or systems issues in a timely manner.
- Flexibility to learn and support other IT areas of the business if required.
- Continued personal growth in areas of technology, business knowledge and company policies.
SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience with user/PC/network support in a multi-site Microsoft Windows environment.
- Proficient with the following: PC, printer, and other peripheral hardware troubleshooting, support and repair; Desktop and server operating systems and related hardware; Active Directory support; Installation and support of business and industry related software applications; Data backup concepts, applications, processes and procedures; System security concepts and support of related applications; LAN/WAN concepts, cabling, and related software/hardware.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, time management and organization skills.
- Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills in evaluating business requirements and issues.
- Managing complex challenges to collaborate with IT and business users on determining appropriate solutions.
- Minimum 2-year degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, certification and experience.
INTER-RELATIONSHIPS:
- Interacts with all levels of management, employees, corporate officers and vendors
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Frequent reaching, grasping, talking, listening and finger/hand usage (dexterity-mobility)
- Exposure to moderate noise level, temperature change and shop floor conditions.
- Availability required outside of regular business hours for on-call production support.
- Travel will be required on a regular basis to our Michigan locations in Corunna, Owosso, and Clifford.
