Overview:
The Licensed Practical Nurse, LPN provides direct care, administers treatments and medications, organizes and distributes daily assignments to direct care staff consistent with staff competency and each individual resident's comprehensive resident assessment and plan of care. Supervises direct care staff and makes decisions about resident care needs during shifts concerning scope of clinical competence, consistent with facility policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:
Makes daily rounds on assigned unit at least at beginning and at end of shift to observe, examine or interview residents, to verify information from ongoing shift and monitor regulatory compliance.
Maintains resident nutrition by examining food trays for prescribed diet; feeding patients; recording food and fluid intake and output.
Helps resident with daily living by bathing, dressing, and assisting residents in walking and turning.
Keeps nursing supervisors informed by observing residents and reporting adverse reactions to medication or treatment.
Maintains equipment and supplies by keeping catheters, tracheotomy tubes, and oxygen supplies available.
Performs routine laboratory tests by collecting samples, such as urine, blood, and sputum.
Prepares cadavers for mortuary by washing and dressing deceased persons.
Requirements:
Certificate/Licenses: Current, active license as Licensed Practical Nurse in Pennsylvania.
Work Experience: One year experience providing direct care to residents in long term care setting
Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at NewCourtland. If you are not currently vaccinated, you will be required to receive the vaccination prior to hire date if you are offered employment unless you request and receive an approved medical or religious exemption from NewCourtland.

Pay: $34.01 - $37.45 per hour
