NewEdge Advisors (NEA) is looking for a highly skilled service-minded associate with a positive attitude who enjoys problem-solving and meeting the needs of our advisor base & home office staff. The Data Specialist will report directly to the Senior Account Data Administrator. The position will be in New Orleans, LA or Baton Rouge, LA. Remote applications considered.
Responsibilities:
The position of Data Specialist is a dynamic role with a diversified number of assigned daily tasks. The primary responsibilities of this job include database management and maintenance for NewEdge Advisors. This person will be responsible for monitoring multi-custodial data and ensuring data integrity of the database. This person will work closely with multiple business departments including Billing, Operations, Compliance, Trading and Advisor Technology to ensure data and reporting of business function is maintained. The ideal candidate will have direct experience with using the Orion technology platforms and applications.
- Database maintenance of NewEdge Advisors’ multi-custodial RIA Orion instances. Onboarding new advisors and RIA staff to Orion and other systems. Rep mapping and interface set up with multiple custodians. Set up and review representative assignments, custom data entry and mass imports into Orion and/or other portfolio management system.
- Verify that data is flowing properly from custodians and other data sources and that data is usable. Ensure 13F reporting indicator, compliance and suitability information is accurate.
- Assemble and summarize data across multiple business functions including, Operations, Billing, Compliance, Trading and Transitions.
- Bi -monthly review of Orion and custodial data as well as the Asset Comparison Report (ACR), review of firm missing accounts. Close accounts within Orion, review of excluded accounts.
- Work with Advisors and the Operations, Trading and Billing Teams on data related questions (i.e., missing accounts, closed accounts, incorrect asset values)
- Verify the delivery of cost basis files from custodians within Orion.
- In conjunction with the Advisory Billing Manager perform quality control checks to ensure accurate tracking of account billing detail, including client information, open & closed account detail, account standing status to ensure proper billing and rebates.
- Maintain quality control measures to ensure transition to data entry within Orion is accurate. Cross check custodial data versus Orion data.
- Special Projects within Orion and/or other systems (i.e. Stored Performance, Account Linking, Missing Transactions)
- Historical Conversion Coordination. This includes reviewing Performance Outliers, Communication with Orion and the Advisor, Data Feed Setups, etc.
- SalesForce Queue Management; Assisting with maintaining communication with our advisors
- Cross Training with other Teammates to ensure Work/Life Balance, Coverage when out of office, and creating a dynamic work environment.
Qualifications
- 4-7 years of securities industry experience within organizations providing investment advisory or financial technology services.
- Experience with Orion, Fidelity, Raymond James, Schwab, Goldman Sachs, and/or LPL Clearing preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or other business-related field or equivalent professional experience.
- Skill in operating various database and software programs (i.e., Microsoft Office, Orion, Salesforce, Power BI, Tableau, etc.). Expertise in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to communicate professionally in writing or verbally with co-workers, advisors, and other business units as required.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and handle multiple tasks within established timeframes.
- Ability to clearly and concisely explain complex information.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail, meet or exceed deadlines and implement quality control processes to check for accuracy.
- Ability to communicate and project a positive, professional attitude with co-workers, customers, and various business contacts in person and over the telephone.
- Ability to continually stay updated with new information.
- Ability to be at work on a regular and predictable basis.
