Manage Carrier Network: Oversee the day-to-day operations of small parcel and LTL carriers, including contract negotiations, pricing, and performance management.
- Optimize Transportation Strategies: Analyze shipping data to develop and implement strategies that improve delivery speed, cost efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Carrier Performance Monitoring: Track and report key performance metrics (KPI), such as on-time delivery rates, transit times, and customer feedback. Hold carriers accountable for service levels and take corrective actions as needed.
- Freight Rate Negotiations: Negotiate competitive freight rates with carriers while maintaining service quality, ensuring cost-effective shipping options.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with warehousing, customer service, and inventory teams to ensure alignment on shipping strategies and fulfillment processes.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all transportation operations are compliant with local, state, and federal regulations, including safety standards and environmental laws.
- Technology Utilization: Leverage transportation management systems (TMS) to enhance route planning, freight tracking, and reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- 3-5 years of experience managing small parcel and LTL carriers in an e-commerce or retail environment.
- Strong knowledge of transportation logistics, including contract negotiation, carrier performance management, and freight cost analysis.
- Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and proficiency in Excel and other data analysis tools.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of domestic shipping regulations and compliance standards.
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on continuous improvement and operational efficiency
