NEWKS’s is a fast-casual restaurant specializing in fresh, made from scratch soups, salads, sandwiches and pizzas. CKJ Management, LLC is an independently owned group of franchise restaurants. The Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable Clerk is an hourly position working 40 hours per week. This position will support the Accounting department with bookkeeping and general accounting duties and has a hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Process/maintain Accounts Payable and Receivable for 11 store locations
- Facilitate payment of invoices due and contact vendors if needed
- Prepare and enter invoices for payment
- Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies
- Prepare and process electronic, credit card and check payments
- Make intercompany bank transfers when needed
- Track Accounts Receivable aging balances and deposit account payments. Some contact with customers is required
- Obtain and maintain W9s from vendors. Setup vendors in the system. Respond to vendor and employee inquiries.
- Assists in gathering information and documentation for audits, and monthly and year-end filings
- Maintain Inventory of each store’s equipment, furniture, fixtures and vehicles for annual Business Property Tax Renditions
- Sort and distribute incoming physical mail and manage extensive emailed bills and notices
- May perform other projects and duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
- At least 3 years’ experience in accounting or similar office position
- Ability to assume responsibility and work independently with little or no supervision
- Ability to meet deadlines and balance multiple priorities and be able to effectively prioritize work
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and proofreading abilities
- Must be flexible and adaptable to a fast-paced environment and changing priorities
- Experience with Xero accounting software a plus
- Experience with Bill.com bill pay system a plus
- Experience with Monkey Media accounts receivable system a plus
- Proven familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
