What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housing Specialist (Bilingual) position at Newkleo LLC?
Job Description:
The primary case manager for clients, mainly individuals who were previously homeless and have a disability. Responsibilities include regular client contact through phone, in-person, and home visits. Maintain accurate client records following HUD standards, verify income, identify additional service needs, and provide information, referrals, and client education.
- Help clients access services to support self-sufficiency and housing stability.
- Develop a list of community resources like social agencies, clinics, and nursing homes.
- Conduct home visits to check on clients' progress and update care plans.
- Keep up-to-date records in program software and prepare reports for supervisors.
- Assist clients in forming social connections and preventing homelessness.
- Coordinate services through care programs and understand the local social and economic environment.
Knowledge, Skills, Education, and/or Experience:
- Preferred Skill: Bilingual (English-Spanish)
- Strong ability to build trust and relationships with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Able to follow instructions and work independently, applying skills and knowledge from training and experience.
- Experience interviewing clients, assessing needs, and guiding them from housing readiness to stability.
- Proficient in entering case notes and completing HMIS data entry.
- Able to conduct phone, in-person, and home consultations with clients and their contacts.
Mandatory skills:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, seek supervision and communicate with supervisor regularly.
Work hours:
- 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday to Friday
- Lunch Duration: 1 Hour Unpaid
