Assistant Rural Carrier (ARC)
$20.38 per hour paid bi-weekly
Assistant Rural Carriers, using dynamic route descriptions, will deliver packages on Sundays and observed holidays. Assistant Rural Carriers may case, deliver, and collect mail and packages on Saturday along a prescribed rural route using a vehicle.
· Part–time, non-career position.
· Applicants must have a valid state driver’s license, a safe driving record, and at least two years of unsupervised experience driving passenger cars or larger. The driving must have taken place in the U.S. or its possessions or territories or in U.S. military installations worldwide.
· Hours will vary and will include Saturday, Sunday, and holidays observed by USPS; there is no guarantee of hours.
· You must be flexible with little to no lead time or advance notice of a schedule change.
· You may be required to provide a vehicle sufficient in size for delivery of mail if an employer-provided vehicle is not assigned. If required to provide your own vehicle, ARCs will receive additional compensation.
· You will be required to have the ability to deliver from the right-hand side of the vehicle.
· You will perform work indoors and outdoors in all weather: rain, sleet, ice, snow, cold, and heat, and you may encounter animals and insects too.
· Your duties will be physically demanding requiring moderate to heavy lifting, carrying, prolonged standing, reaching, and walking. Routes may be 10-15 miles a day.
· You will provide mail security at all times.
· You must follow established safe work methods and procedures.
