ABC Basket Unloader 3rd Shift

3rd Shift Hours: 11pm-7am

Additional 3rd Shift Differential: $1.05

Summary:

Performs functions of loading bread from conveyors to racks for cooling; or unloading bread from racks to conveyors for making bread crumbs.

Essential Functions:

Loader

• Make sure loaves of bread are appropriate to size and color.
• Feed 12 loaves of bread into the auto basket loader. The loader fills and stacks the baskets on a rack. There are 24 baskets in one rack. The employee moves the rack to the staling area and labels it with a time and date.
• Pushes and/or pulls full rack to its appropriate staling location; and pushes and/or pulls another empty cart in place to load.
• Return to the line making sure that line is running smoothly and that metal detector is properly working.

Unloader

• Retrieve a basket rack from the staling area and unloads loaves of bread out of the baskets and onto the conveyor belt. Making sure the line stays consistent full of leaves of bread.
• Pushes and/or pulls empty rack to its appropriate location for cleaning; and pushes and/or pulls another full cart in place to unload.
• Makes sure area is clean and the appropriate bread formula is used according to the production schedule.

Both Roles

• Rotates with each other throughout the shift to avoid wear on muscles.
• Monitor the grinder machine to ensure that any clogs are immediately cleared.
• Performs required GMP and cleaning requirements during the shift.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the above functions satisfactorily
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Able to communicate well, both verbal and written
• Ability to add and subtract numbers to verify loaves to a rack and/or bags to a pallet
• Ability to tell time and properly record time-related data
• Knowledge about manufacturing food preferred
• Able to work 12-hour shifts, overtime, and weekends

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the day to day tasks of this job the employee will stand for long periods of time while using hands and arms to handle bread and associated carts. The employee will regularly lift, bend, push, and pull. The employee will be regularly required to talk and listen to others. The employee will be regularly required to lift and handle objects weighing up to 50 pounds; and push carts in excess of 800 pounds.

Work Environment: The job is performed in a moderately noisy to loud environment with slight exposure to strong aromas and airborne dust particles emanating from the ingredients being used. The employee will be in the presence of large operating machinery including forklifts.

Environmental Conditions: Inside, Heat. Temperature tends to vary with the season.
