Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our educational team in fostering a nurturing and effective learning environment while also leading our afterschool program. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for working with children, including those with special education needs and diverse learning styles. This role is critical in providing classroom assistance, recess supervision, office support, individualized student support, and overseeing the operation and supervision of our afterschool program.

Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and classroom activities.
- Supervise and run the afterschool program from afterschool-5:30 pm.
- Provide support to students during lessons, ensuring they understand the material and stay engaged.
- Help manage classroom behavior and promote a positive learning atmosphere.
- Work closely with students with diverse abilities to facilitate their learning and development.
- Support the development of curriculum materials that cater to various learning styles.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Communicate effectively with teachers regarding student progress and any concerns.
- Participate in training sessions, including safe environment, and professional development opportunities as required.
Requirements
- Experience in childcare or daycare settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of basic academic concepts to assist students effectively.
- Previous experience working with students who have special education needs or behavioral challenges is highly desirable.
- Strong skills in behavior management techniques to foster a supportive learning environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of an educational team while taking initiative when needed.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with students, parents, and staff.
- A genuine passion for helping children learn and grow academically and socially.
