JOB DESCRIPTION
The Journeyman Millwright is responsible for installing, dismantling, or moving machinery and heavy equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, or other drawings.
Essential Job Duties
- Contributing to the development of a work plan that meets customer project requirements.
- Interpret drawings, blueprints and following written and printed detail instruction
- Developing a materials list for each project as needed and working through purchasing to acquire those materials
- Installing and repairing mechanical systems and components such as pumps, compressors, motors, bearings, couplings, seals, and perform alignments
- Demonstrating fabrication skills and ability to meet customer ideas or project concepts
- Abiding by all site emergency plan and procedures
- Conforming with and abiding by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions
- Conforming with all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment
- May perform other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED; or a minimum of 3-5 years of applicable experience
- Journeyman Millwright has completed 8,670 hrs. in the specific categories required for training and completed 5 years of classroom millwright training
- Must have ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals, and routine reports and correspondence
- Must be able to prioritize and organize multiple simultaneous tasks to ensure timely and accurate completion
- Must have excellent communication skills on all levels within and outside of the organization
- Able to analyze information gathered in order to identify potential problems or discrepancies
- Able to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate appropriate initiative
- Requires attention to detail
- May be working in office, industrial or laboratory work site
- Occasional exposure to elements such as noise, dust, heat, cold or chemicals
