About this role
Provide research and data management support to sustain and improve the company's best-in-class sustainability reporting program. Conducts research on sustainability-related policies and issues and makes recommendations for improvements to company procedures. Works across the full sustainability portfolio to support the organization's strategy and goals through data management and analysis.
Your role will consisit of
- Updates and maintains sustainability reporting data collection workbooks throughout of annual reporting cycles; performs quality control checks on data inputs.
- Supports the development and documentation of sustainability data inventory management plans, quality assurance and control processes, and data warehousing/archiving standards.
- Works with region and site subject matter experts to facilitate the sustainability data collection process; provides data collection tools and quality checks throughout the collection period.
- Coordinates data collection, analysis and synthesis of environmental, greenhouse gas and energy data that are incorporated into reports, briefing papers, presentations and planning for external standards organizations (e.g., Task Force on Climate Related Financial Disclosures).
- Partners with finance, tax and investor relations to support the sustainability components of the company's financial reporting, including Economic Impact reports, Taxes and Royalties reporting; Community Investments; and Economic Value data.
- Develops metrics and dashboards for tracking and reporting sustainability targets related to closure management, audit results, permitting and other related areas.
- Provide data analysis and reporting support other sustainability sub-functions (Water, Biodiversity, Social Responsibility, Human Rights), as necessary.

Your training, skills, and experience checklist
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, data science, business or related field. Graduate degree preferred.
- Working knowledge of business intelligence reporting software preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience and/or demonstrated ability to meet the position requirements; mining sector experience preferred.
- Familiarity with environmental data and reporting, including greenhouse gases (GHG), energy, water, waste, etc.; GHG accounting skills required (will train candidates if needed).
- Business/finance/environmental/sustainability background; Environmental. Social, Governance
- Work in a complex, global, multi-national environment.
- Advanced Excel, data analytics, data visualization and dashboard development.
- Ability to work with limited supervision as part of a team
- Relationship building and influence skills; ability to work with a range of subject matter experts and guide them toward a single objective.
- Strong project management, change management and communication skills.
- Planning and coordination; orchestrating data collection and verification for a range of reporting projects and needs.
- Report design and development; experience managing non-financial reporting systems.
- Analytic thinking; breaks down complex problems to find workable solutions.
- Comfort dealing with ambiguity; able to quickly and clearly synthesize outputs; coordinating the work of subject matter experts from diverse functions.

The salary range offered for this role is USD $82,160 - 97,565. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
