What are the responsibilities and job description for the Newport Aquarium Food and Beverage Supervisor position at Newport Aquarium?
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with the Revenue Manager in recommending procedures to ensure the safest and most efficient operation. Assist in implementing personnel schedules for the location daily.
- Assist in maintaining accurate time records for assigned personnel.
- Assist in maintaining proper implementation of required documentation for revenue operations, including daily cash register reports, spoilage sheets, transfer sheets, order sheets and other necessary documents.
- Work with the Revenue Manager in recommending supplies and equipment necessary for operation and utilizing these according to pre-determined guidelines.
- Assist in implementing an effective training program for all revenue team members; continually monitor the effectiveness of this training through observation, communication and testing.
- As requested, assist the Revenue Manager in the preparation and implementation of the location operating manuals; help to ensure that all procedural changes and new procedures are documented and given to assigned personnel.
- Products offered in the location are prepared and served so guests are being always offered a quality product.
- Responsible for maintaining Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance, ensuring that staff is trained, and training is current.
- Daily for the location, monitor and assure that:
- The café front of house is adequately staffed with trained and certified personnel.
- All equipment is properly checked and opening procedures are conducted before operation occurs.
- Daily paperwork is properly completed.
- Orders are being prepared and served correctly, safely and efficiently.
- Cash control procedures are being properly implemented.
- The service area, preparation areas and eating areas are being kept clean.
- Employees are courteous, friendly and helpful.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of three (3) years’ successful supervisory experience required in food and/or merchandise operations.
- Strong leadership and management skills required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Successful completion of pre-employment background check
- Ability to remain stationary for long periods of time, ascend & descend stairs, bend, stoop, and reach
- Physical strength, including the ability to lift 25 pounds
