What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant - Front and Back Office position at Newport Children's Medical Group?
Responsibilities:
- Provide medical administrative support to healthcare professionals in outpatient setting
- Perform basic medical assistant duties for front and back office
- Take and record vital signs of patients, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Patient intake, registration, insurance eligibility verification, referrals and authorizations.
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare providers.
- Assist with coding and billing processes.
- Utilize knowledge of anatomy to accurately document patient information.
- Deliver exceptional patient service and ensure a positive experience.
Experience:
- Previous experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is required.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation is crucial.
-Bilingual in Spanish or Chinese (Mandarin) is a plus
