What are the responsibilities and job description for the Math Interventionist (2025-2026 school year) position at Newport City Schools?
The Newport City Elementary School seeks a knowledgeable and energetic individual to fill their math interventionist position within its’ PK-6 school with approximately 350 students. The position incorporates working directly with students and consulting with teachers concerning assessment results and implementing research and evidence based best practices. Applicants must have the ability to adapt curriculum to accommodate student needs, to address core subject areas using non-traditional methods and be able to view students in terms of their success and help them persevere when there are challenges. Applicants should have in-depth knowledge of math content and pedagogy, with VMI (Vermont Mathematics Initiative) training preferred.
Candidates must have or be eligible for appropriate Vermont AOE licensure.
Salary & Benefits: As per the Teachers’ Negotiated Agreement.
