Job Title: Push Cart Program Organizer

Organization: Newport Downtown Development (NDD)

Term: May 1, 2025 – September 31, 2025

Overview:

Newport Downtown Development (NDD) is seeking an energetic, self-driven, and motivated individual to organize the Push Cart program. The organizer will be responsible for vendor recruitment and event coordination, communication, and marketing of the program.

Responsibilities:

• Vendor Recruitment and Event Coordination:
• Recruit a minimum of 6 vendors to participate each Wednesday at the Waterfront event from July 2nd to August 6th.
• Recruit vendors for other major city/NDD events during the summer months, including Pride Festival, GMFS Block Party, Fall Festival, Grateful Bike Weekend, and a possible Kid Vendor Show.
• Develop and implement practices to encourage and facilitate vendor use of push carts.
• Communication:
• Conduct weekly touch-base meetings with the Associate Director.
• Marketing:
• Collaborate with the Associate Director and the consulting firm to actively market the program and its related events.
• Develop energetic social media and newspaper marketing strategies in the Northern NEK, to be reviewed by the Associate Director.

Qualifications:

• Energetic, self-driven, and motivated.

Compensation:

• $4,000 base pay for the term, plus a $10 bonus per vendor per event.
• Example: If you secure 10 vendors for an event, you will receive a $100 bonus for that event.
• Payment will be distributed at $800 per month plus the vendor bonus.

Term and Conditions:

• The term of this position is from May 1, 2025, to September 31, 2025.
• Either party may terminate the agreement with two months' written notice.
