Primary Scheduled Hours: Day Shift, 12-hour shifts. Per Diem


Job Summary: Assesses, plans, and implements the nursing care of residents within an Assisted Living setting with the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Responsible for ensuring continuity of care of the residents between shifts by providing direct care as well as supervising the care given by NA-Cs and supportive staff members. Participates in resident and family teaching. Maintains role as resident advocate with a focus on the facility’s mission. Delivers and executes daily routine nursing care and services to residents in an Assisted Living setting which may include passing of medicine, vital sign assessment, assisting higher level nursing staff, etc. Works as a team member under the direction of a Registered Nurse to provide quality care that is focused on the comfort and wellbeing of the patient and family. Makes independent decisions in the execution of daily routine duties.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assesses the resident’s condition and nursing needs, prescribes appropriate nursing action.
  • Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Educates the resident and family regarding pain management.
  • Documents changes in resident’s condition and nursing care on progress notes and care plan.
  • Ability to interpret results of waived tests; take appropriate action on waived tests results.
  • Administers medications and follows the seven (8) medication rights and reduces the potential for medication errors.
  • Performs all aspects of resident care in an environment that optimizes resident safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
  • Supports and maintains a culture of safety and quality.
  • Meets current documentation standards and policies.
  • Notifies physician of changes in resident’s condition and follows through until appropriate action is taken.
  • Notes and carries out physician’s orders in a timely manner.
  • Gives a thorough report to oncoming shift by participating in walking rounds and documenting appropriately on calendar for upcoming needs.
  • Follow through as needed on information given by shift report, resident, or family regarding resident concerns.

Education Background and Experience Requirements

Minimum Education:


Graduate of an accredited LPN program.


Required Licensure / Certifications:


Current Licensed Practical Nurse in State of Washington.

Current certification in IV therapy.

  • Maintain regulatory requirements
  • Report to work on time and as scheduled; complete work within designated timelines.
  • Demonstrates the ability to adhere to the mission, ethics and goals of the District.
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate with patients, guests and staff in a courteous, respectful and helpful manner.

Successful candidates typically begin between the beginning and midpoint of the compensation range dependent on qualifications/experience and receive compensation in increments increases annually.
