Primary Scheduled Hours: Per diem, variable shifts
Job Summary:
Obtain the safest and highest quality diagnostic CT, MRI, X-Ray and/or Mammography exams for image documentation of anatomy and pathology for interpretation by a Radiologist per established guidelines and protocols.
Essential Job Functions:
- Performs high quality exams that are consistently approved by the Radiologist and performed to accepted protocol.
- Responsible for the care and safety of patients undergoing imaging procedures and utilizes equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations, facility policies and accepted industry practices to minimize risks of injury, electric shock, uncontrolled movement of metallic items (internal or external) by magnetic field(s), burns, extraneous radiation, inappropriate disruption of functionality in necessary medical devices/implants and other hazards.
- Maintains current and comprehensive knowledge of MRI and/or CT safety protocols, policies and guidelines.
- Starts and uses IVs to administer radiologic contrast agents and saline as ordered by providers.
- Submits necessary documentation and transmitting the same to others involved in patient’s care/imaging processes (filling in relevant info into online forms, completing exams in EHR, creating notes in EHR, etc. when there are unforeseen/aberrant events such as infiltrations, complications, incomplete/limited exams, etc.) on a regular or ad hoc basis.
- Determines the most suitable anatomical posture and positions to acquire necessary radiologic images.
Education Background and Experience Requirements
Minimum Education:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Graduation from an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology: either college affiliated, or hospital trained.
Required Licensure / Certifications:
Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and documented training on the provision of diagnostic CT and/or MRI exams OR certification in nuclear medicine technology by ARRT or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) and documented training on the provision of diagnostic CT exams. Registry for CT and/or MRI required within one year of hire.
Certified in the State of Washington to practice and administer radiation.
Current CPR/BLS required.
Required Experience:
One (1) year of radiologic/imaging experience.
Knowledge and understanding of general anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
Possesses a high level of knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Bachelor of Science degree is preferred but not required.
Prefer specific experience and training in CT/MRI.
Experience with the following computer applications is highly desired: Stentor; EPIC; Microsoft Office; Internet/Intranet.

Successful candidates typically begin between the beginning and midpoint of the compensation range dependent on qualifications/experience and receive compensation in increments increases annually.
