What are the responsibilities and job description for the Delegated Behind The Wheel Trainer position at Newport-Mesa Unified School District?
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the direction of the Director of Transportation or designee, coordinate and conduct original trainee and renewal driver classroom and behind-the-wheel training; assist in the final evaluation of drivers prior to California Highway Patrol written and behind-the-wheel testing; coordinate and conduct monthly safety meetings; create and present training videos and related presentations pertaining to driver safety; perform a variety of clerical and recordkeeping duties in support of bus driver training programs; train and provide work direction to assigned staff; operate a bus as needed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and three years experience as a school bus driver. Experience providing instruction to bus drivers desirable.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Valid Class A or B California Motor Vehicle Operator’s license with passenger transportation, “S” and air brake endorsements
Valid California Department of Education Instructor Certificate
Valid California Special Driver Certificate, valid for school buses
Valid California Highway Patrol approved First Aid Card (if required on Special Certificate)
Valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate, Form MCSA-5876
Must have a current California Department of Motor Vehicles K-4 printout to be submitted with the job application
