Under the direction of the Supervisor, Technology Support, provide technical support in the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of computer equipment, peripherals and software at an assigned school site, District facility or computer laboratory; instruct and assist District personnel in the operation of computers, peripherals, software and related equipment; troubleshoot user problems using help desk practices and procedures and various communication methods.

The virtual written examination is tentatively scheduled for the week of April 21st. The virtual qualifications appraisals interview (oral exam) is tentatively scheduled for the week of April 28th.

Respond to help desk inquiries; assign work order tickets to site technicians utilizing assigned software; escalate unsolved trouble calls to appropriate technical personnel based on established escalation criteria.
Troubleshoot user problems utilizing remote desktop access; assure account request validity within an assigned database; reset customer passwords and test account status to determine activity.
Operate, install, configure, test and perform minor repairs to district computer equipment, software and related peripherals; troubleshoot computer equipment and peripheral devices and report need for major repairs to appropriate personnel.
Provide instruction and assistance to District personnel in the operation and care of computer equipment, hardware and software; provide loaner equipment to staff members; assure equipment is joined to District network domain and receives district standard application inventory.
Perform upgrades on computer equipment and software as directed.
Consult with vendors, service providers and technical support regarding purchase of parts, status of repairs and answers to software and hardware related questions.
Communicate with other departments and District personnel to coordinate activities and provide technical assistance.
Drive a vehicle to various sites to conduct work; prioritize and respond to emergency service calls.
Maintain a variety of records and reports related to computer repairs and inventory; update databases as necessary; process service requests and verify computer specifications.
Convert documents as directed.
Using a variety of communication methods, provides on-line support and assistance to users, Help Desk support and remote control of user systems as directed.
