Newport School District is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic High School Math Teacher to deliver instruction for students participating in the Summer Credit Recovery Program. The ideal candidate will support students in regaining course credit in foundational high school math subjects, including Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II, through targeted instruction and competency-based approaches.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction in high school math courses for students needing credit recovery.
Develop or implement curriculum aligned with district standards and credit recovery goals.
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with IEPs or 504 Plans.
Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and documentation.
Utilize online platforms and digital tools as appropriate for instruction and assessment.
Collaborate with summer school staff and communicate with students and families as needed.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, grading, and student progress.
Qualifications:
Valid NH Secondary Math Teaching Certification (or eligibility for certification).
Experience teaching high school-level math (Algebra, Geometry, etc.).
Familiarity with credit recovery models, competency-based learning, and online learning tools is preferred.
Strong classroom management and interpersonal skills.
Ability to support students in an accelerated and supportive summer learning environment.
