The Peninsula Airport Commission is currently accepting applications for Fire Fighter to join our team at the Newport News Williamsburg International Airport.
Job Duties:
- Maintaining readiness for emergency call response
- Responding to fire, medical, and related emergency calls when dispatched and take proper action
- Educating staff and public on fire safety/prevention and performing other tasks related to Airport Fire Department activities
Job Requirements:
- Must be physically able to operate a variety of machines, tools and equipment which includes a motor vehicle, computer, generator, fire pump, fire hydrant, axe, shovel, hydraulic tools, power tools, hand tools, medical equipment, etc.
- At least 3 years of experience as a career, volunteer, or military firefighter
- High school diploma or GED
- Possession of a valid Virginia driver's license
- Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting experience preferred
- Special Certifications:
- NFPA 1001 Firefighter II (ProBoard, DOD or IFSAC)
- NFPA 472 Hazardous Materials Operations
- Current Virginia EMT-B
