Job Duties
To understand and observe all of Carroll Concrete Co./Newport Sand & Gravel Co., Inc.’s policies and procedures including but not limited to the Employee Handbook, Training Manual, SAFE Policy, Safety Manual and Drug Free Work Place Manual.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Delivery of Materials:
- Safe operation of dump truck on and off road.
- Responsible for documentation of materials delivered, accurate record of time and funds collected
Clean and Maintain Company Vehicles including but not limited to:
- Perform pre and post trip inspections
- Prepare Daily Inspection Reports
- Weekly and general vehicle maintenance (as per the Vehicle Maintenance Schedule)
- Proper cleaning of vehicle inside and outside
Maintenance of Plant/Yard General Housekeeping
- Plant/Yard maintenance and housekeeping duties as assigned
Customer Relations
- Understand and observe Carroll Concrete’s Company’s policies and procedures regarding customer relations
Desired Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Skills:
- Must be dependable, a team player and be safety conscious
- Must be able to deal professionally with plant employees and other drivers
- Legible writing and math skills
- Common sense and good judgement and willingness to work
- Excellent defensive driving skills
Experience:
Dump Truck driving experience and/or several years of off road driving experience
Each worker is responsible for his/her own safety and for the safety of others around them. Work safely and report unsafe conditions to your supervisor.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Must have a valid CDL Class B Driver’s License and driving record within the tolerable insurability limits (Carroll Concrete Company’s discretions)
- Must pass DOT (Department of Transportation) physical as well as federally mandated alcohol and drug testing requirements
Restrictions:
- Must be able to maneuver in and out of equipment safely
- Must be able to lift or maneuver up to 75lbs. multiple times throughout the workday
- Must inspect all areas of equipment and plant, daily
- Must preform plant maintenance
- Perform multiple tasks under stressful situations over long periods of time while maintaining proper composure
- Must be able to work flexible hours as necessary
Part of the Dump Truck Driver’s job will be “other” tasks/duties as assigned or as necessary.
